Associate of the Month

Each month the management of each store select an Associate of the Month.  Any employee may nominate a person for this honor.  The store director and management make the decision upon the following criteria:

  1. Job Performance

  2. Enthusiasm

  3. Creativity

  4. Customer Responsiveness

  5. Congeniality

  6. Leadership

  7. Appearance

  8. Attendance and Punctuality.

This associate is recognized as an outstanding example for other Major Market associates to follow.  This associate is rewarded with $100 which is presented at the beginning of each month.


Awards Honorees…..

Every year in December we celebrate those associates who have been with Major Market for five years or more.  This year will mark our 20th  We are very proud of our associates and we want you to know their names.  You probably know many of them by name already! They serve you every day and bring you the best service and products to make your shopping experience at Major Market different from the other chains.

Our asscociate of the month for November is Donna Davilla. She has been employed with Major Market since 2006. Donna works in the bakery department and specializes in baking sugar-free cookies. She is always busy taking phone orders or putting product out. Donna also works in the Coffee Bar and makes the best hot drinks!

Our associate of the month for October is Scott Waguespack. This is Scott’s first year working for Major Market in our Seafood Department. He is doing an excellent job for us. Scott has had many customer compliments. We appreciate all that Scott does for our store.

Our associate of the month for September is Cynthia Osterloh. She has been an employee of ours since 1990. Cindy works in the Butcher Shoppe as our meat wrapper. She has had many customer compliments. We are glad we have her as part of our Major Market team. Thanks for all of your hard work!!!


Our employee of the month for August is Dara Wankier. She has been employed with us since 1998. Dara started at Major Market as a courtesy clerk. She quickly worked her way up to checker and then manager. She also fills in for bookkeeping shifts when needed. Dara graduated from San Diego State University. We are lucky to have her work for our company.
 
Escondido- Conor Grugan
 
Conor has been with Major Market since May 2005. He started off as a courtesy clerk and was promoted to a cashier. Conor is currently going to college and working at Major Market part-time. He is a great worker!
The associate of the month for June is Jessica Ortiz. Jessica started out as a courtesy clerk last year and has already has been promoted to a G.M clerk. She is a very hard worker and we appreciate her. In fact this is Jessica’s second time getting employee of the month in less then a year’s time, that’s a Major Market record.

Our employee of the month for May is Rosa Martinez. Rosa has been working for Major Market for 8 years. She has done a great job in our Centre Court area. She slices our deli meats and prepares the salads for the day. She is a reliable worker and we appreciate her.



Our Escondido Associate of the month for April is David Burr. He works in the Meat Department full time. He has worked at both Escondido and Fallbrook stores. He is a very hard worker and knowledgeable of the department. One employee describes David as the friendliest person he has every met.

This is Mike Lopez who is March’s associate of the month. He started off as a courtesy clerk and was promoted to the dairy box. He does an awesome job!

 

 February:

The associate of the month for Escondido is Mario Martinez. He has been an employee since November 2006. He is a very hard worker and always knows what needs to be done without being asked. He is cross-trained to work in the Bakery, Service Deli, and helping our chefs out. He is currently training to be one of our Major Market chefs.
Fallbrook's Asscociate of the month for November went to Lisa Ramirez.
Lisa was hired in September of 2003 as a courtesy clerk. This month we chose Lisa because of her excellent customer service. When it comes to customer service, Lisa sets a great example. When customers need help finding a product, unloading their carts, help out to their cars, or help shopping Lisa always does it with a positive attitude and smile on her face. Lisa's attention to customer service is both appreciated by Major Market as well as its valued customers.


BROOKE STEWART ASSOCIATE OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER
 
BROOKE STEWART STARTED WORKING FOR MAJOR MARKET ESCONDIDO IN 1996.SHE NOW CURRENTLY WORKS AS A  P.I.C AND SCAN COORDINATOR IN FALLBROOK. TO KEEP IT SHORT AND SWEET, BROOKE IS AN IDEAL EMPLOYEE AND ASSET TO THE COMPANY.WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE SHE EXCELS ,ALWAYS DOING HER BEST TO MEET CUSTOMER NEEDS.SHE IS DEPENDABLE,OUTGOING,HARDWORKING,A TEAM PLAYER AND NOW THAT SHE IS  IN FALLBROOK SHE IS BILINGUAL.
Fany Lopez has been with Major Market since 1992.  Fany began her career at Major Market as a courtesy clerk, but quickly worked her way up to cashier.  Fany is now a front end P.I.C. and backup Bookkeeper.  She is also in charge of all our courtesy clerks and has hundreds of other job duties.  Fany is hard working, loyal, and dedicated.  The list goes on and on, but she does it all with a smile.
For the Month of August Neo Uriostigue was chosen for Employee of the Month.
Although Neo's primary job within our store is a cashier, he is always ready and available to do any extra job asked. When he is not seen in the checkstand, he might be found in our frozen food department, cleaning shelves or helping out in the parking lot setting up and serving our Mississippi BBQ. Neo always has a great attitude, smile on his face and ready to put a smile on yours!
 

FOR THE MONTH OF JULY WE CHOSE BOBBY LYONS FOR EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH. BOBBY WAS HIRED IN SEPTEMBER OF 1991, BUT HAS RETIRED AND COME BACK TO OR FAMILY NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. WHEN BOBBY IS WORKING ON THE SALES FLOOR, IT IS A GUARANTY THAT THE SHELVES REMAIN WELL STOCKED AND THE END DISPLAYS ARE LOOKING GOOD. YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON BOBBY TO HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND SMILE ON HIS FACE. WE THANK BOBBY FOR HIS YEARS OF HARD WORK.

Fallbrook's June associate of the month is Yazmin Flores. Yazmin was recently promoted from a Courtesy Clerk to a General Merchandise clerk, and is doing an exceptional job. Yazmin has worked for Major Market for six years and was given an award for her five year accomplishment this past December. Always with a smile on her face, she is ready whether it is collecting carts, bagging groceries, helping customers with their needs, or stocking the shelves.

For the month of May we are honoring two employees, Sarah (Tini) Hijnosa and Raymond Perez. Because of their quick actions, they were able to successfully perform the Heimlich Maneuver thus saving the life of another employee. Thanks to Tini's first aid awareness, she was able to direct Raymond on how to render aid. They both showed excellence in service towards others and we thank them.

 


April Associate of the Month -Moises has worked for Major Market since August of 2004. He started off as a courtesy clerk, was promoted to a dairy clerk and now is a closing grocery clerk. Moises started at the bottom and is working his way up in the company. He has shown a great improvement in his work and is continuing to grow within our company.
